Support for Faculty Research
FACULTY RESEARCH, SCHOLARSHIP, AND CREATIVITY GRANTS
Faculty Research, Scholarship, and Creativity Grants are intended to support faculty research, scholarship, and creative activity. They are funded by the Office of the Provost and administered by the Research, Scholarship, and Creativity Committee. Faculty may receive a maximum of $2,500 in any single 12-month period. Proposals are reviewed in October and March, and grants awarded must be spent before the end of the fiscal year. A total of up to $9,000 in faculty grants will be awarded per semester. Support for Student Research
Carthage places a major emphasis on student research and scholarship. Early and often in their time at Carthage, students are challenged to perform original study under the close guidance of experienced faculty.
THE Student RESEARCH GRANT
The Student Research Grant is intended to support independent research by undergraduate and graduate students. Students may request up to $500 for expenses relating to their scholarly activity. STUDENT ACADEMIC TRAVEL AWARDS
Student Academic Travel Awards are available to support students traveling to academic conferences and events to present student research, scholarship, or creative works completed at Carthage. The awards provide up to $500 for approved expenses. A total of up to $3,000 in all student grants will be awarded per semester. CELEBRATION OF SCHOLARS
The Celebration of Scholars is held annually to recognize exemplary student research, scholarship, and creativity. The Research, Scholarship, and Creativity Committee (RSCC) conducts the review process, which begins in February with a call for proposals.
